About the Internship

 

Purpose

     

Summer internship is the prevalent way of practical training among schools of all levels in TaiwanHoweversummer  internship  did  not  prove significant achievements and the corporation between the industry and the academics did not satisfactorily attain the goal of internship implementationIn light of the criticismsthe Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) first proposed a 1 year professional internship covering two semesters ( 2nd  semester of the junior and 1st  semester of the senior)  in 1992  Although it can not overcome the deficiency  of  summer  internship it comprises  numerous  distinguishing features

      The table shows the basic structure of scheduling

It can be adjusted according to the needs of the allied companies

  To the allied companies it is suggested to have 2 interns on WED. to communicate weekly tasks and turn over the dutiesRemain 1 intern on MON., TUE., THU., and FRI

  There are two plans for professional internship schedule arrangements

Select the one that suits students and employers:

Plan A: 9 months with full-time during summer and winter vacation (Professional internship will be completed before the 1st semester of the senior courses)

Plan B: 12 months; following the basic structure of scheduling (Professional internship will be completed before the 2nd semester of the senior courses)

 

Supervision and Training

 

There will be one-month pre-internship trainings on practical operation and procedure, job/work theories and interpersonal relations

 

Supervisors will be appointed to each intern. They are responsible for internship workshops and to solve problems in the professional field and the adaptation to the working environment
